Sketches (pictured above) feature different designs. The first one deals with Islamic art and the idea of fractals and non-natural forms as well as the imperfect symmetry seen in Moroccan tiles. The second drawing considers Aztec imagery and art and investigates the symbols and their connection to luxury. That idea was scrapped. The final concept looks at Art Deco, a pre-war art movement that blossomed after World War I and the presiding Golden Age. Art Deco celebrated architectural forms and was seen in many luxury office and apartment buildings in Post-War America.
Final cover plate renders (pictured above), feature fillets on the droplet-like shapes and chamfers on the triangles. The planar surface of the plate now features curves along the edges of the plate.
